Each year, the Board of Education and schools set goals that we would like to achieve. The goals that the Lincoln Park Elementary School set involve all LPES staff.
Goals for the 2025 - 2026 school year:
Goal #1 - N.J.A.C. 6A:8-2.1 calls for the review and readoption of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) every five years. The English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics standards were most recently adopted in 2016; the review process began in July of 2022. The in-depth revision of these standards has a high potential impact on educators and teachers will need time to review the standards in an effort to modify their instructional offerings.
This is a two year goal; ELA standards were revised and disseminated during the 2024-2025 school year. This year will include successfully reviewing, revising, and fully implementing the new NJSLS for Mathematics by the end of the 2025 - 2026 school year.
This two-year initiative will ensure educators have the necessary time to adapt their instructional practices and curriculum to align with the revised standards, thereby enhancing student learning outcomes.
#2 - To increase the effectiveness of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) by ensuring a data-driven, systematic process for identifying student needs and implementing targeted academic and behavioral interventions.
By the end of the 2025 - 2026 school year, 100% of students receiving Tier 2 interventions will have a documented, specific intervention plan with measurable goals which will be reviewed at designated six-week intervals to determine efficacy and next steps.
Our mission at LPES: The Lincoln Park Elementary School will inspire and empower its children with opportunities that positively shape their lives and help them to become successful, life-long learners who possess the critical thinking, academic, and leadership skills required for the 21st Century.
